The Waenhuis Building Project – two bags of cement

Jagersbosch services the communities in Jongensfontein, Stilbaai, Melkhoutfontein and the neighbouring rural areas from Blombos to Droë Vlakte and further on to Blikhuis. Children, the poor, the elderly and the general community benefit from the 1500 meals that are made monthly. The food service is one of the most popular services offered by Jagersbosch and the need for this service rises annually- the kitchen has become the hub of the organization. Unfortunately the kitchen at the Waenhuis in Stilbaai is in desperate need of an upgrade in order to keep up with the demand.

Jagersbosch is an Article 21 organisation and is responsible for raising money to fund all services. Jagersbosch was privileged enough to receive a grant from the National Lottery Fund to assist with the upgrades but this amount is not enough to cover all the building work that is necessary.

We are therefore asking people for a R100 donation which will cover the cost of two bags of cement. Because Jagersbosch is a charity organisation this donation can be subtracted from your income for tax purposes.

Should you wish to make a donation you can send Jagersbosch a cheque or  make an electronic payment, the bank details are as follows: Jagersbosch Community Care Centre, ABSA bank, branch # 334613, account # 4050649589. The reference on the deposit should read “Waenhuis” followed by your initials.

Corrugated Iron Houses

If you have recently visited The Homestead you would have seen the two corrugated iron houses being erected on the premises. These houses are welcome additions to the historic buildings of Jagersbosch. One can be used as rentable self-catering accommodation and the other as a venue for a small coffee shop. A final decision will still be made regarding this. There will be a beautiful view of the sea from the house as well as the wonderful indigenous gardens of The Homestead.  For further information please contact Petra Daneel, (t) 028 754 1934 or info@jagersbosch.org.za
